This guide explains how competition organizers/organisers can create and manage relay teams in Roster Athletics, including adding club affiliations and performance records.

You can add a new relay team to the Roster Athletics database from the start lists of a competition, or from OVERVIEW Relay teams in the left-hand side menu. Depending on the place, follow these steps:

  1. Creating a new relay team
  2. Entering data
  3. Adding a club
  4. Saving
  5. Editing

Step 1: Creating a new relay team

To add a new relay team from the start list, click Add relay teamsCreate new.

To add a new relay team from OVERVIEW Relay teams in the left-hand side menu, click Create new relay team.

Step 2: Entering data

The Create new relay team window will open.

To add a new relay team, you must enter or select the following mandatory fields:

  • Name
  • Country
  • Gender

Step 3: Adding a club

You can also assign the relay team to a club or school.

To assign a relay team to a club or school, click the edit icon and find your club or school in the Select club/school window.

For more information on adding a new club or school, see the Add club/school guide.

Step 4: Saving

After adding all the data, click the Save button.

Step 5: Editing

If you have added a new relay team correctly, you will see a menu containing links to General and Records. The Permissions button will also appear at the bottom of the page.

Records

Under Records, you can view and edit personal and season records of the relay team. If you created the relay team or have edit permission, you can add records manually by clicking the Add records button.

Use the following time formats depending on event length:

  • Seconds only: SS.ss

Example: 40.85 (4x100m)

  • Minutes and seconds: M:SS.ss

Example: 3:00.13 (4x400m)

  • Hours, minutes, and seconds (with decimals): H:MM:SS.ss

Example: 1:20:15.20

  • Hours, minutes, and seconds (no decimals): H:MM:SS

Example: 2:10:11

Important:

  • Decimal separator must be a dot (.), not a comma.
  • All results must include two decimal places. Enter 51.60 instead of 51.6.
  • Do not include units (e.g. “s”).

Permissions

After creating the relay team, you can manage access permissions. By clicking the Permissions button, you can add users who will have permission to read, edit, or delete data for this relay team. For more information on adding permissions to a new user, see the Permission to edit relay guide.

Relay members

Team members may vary depending on the competition, so assignments are made on the start list for each event. See the Create start lists guide for more details.
